HNu Photonics Primary Research Areas:
LED and Efficient Lighting Technology
According to the IEA lighting accounts for 17.5 percent of the world energy usage. Efficient lighting plays a very important role in eliminating waste and saving energy.
Retail applications, such as dimming ability, beam spread, superior color rendering, etc.
Induction lighting as direct replacement bulbs for fluorescent tube lighting, street and public area lighting.
Solar Power Generation
Next generation solar photovoltaics incorporating high levels of efficiency at a low production cost. Solar power has the advantage flexibility. Solar cells can be integrated into many building products, from solar shingles to solar glass. To make solar ubiquitous it will take a boost in efficiency while decreasing costs. HNu's solar division is currently prototyping solar modules that have increased efficiency and a lower manufacturing cost than traditional solar products.
“Building integrated” systems, which offer superior aesthetics to current roof mounted panels.
Compact, more efficient PV panel designs.
Lower cost, snap together panels and large scale battery/capacitor storage.
Wind Power
With the United States now topping Germany for wind power output, there is an increased push towards improving and supporting the wind industry. Wind power has become very economical and can be cheaper than nuclear power. There is a large transition towards providing a substantial amount of power through wind energy. Here at HNu we strive to provide technologies and intellectual property that stand out.
